A friend once said that, why does it seems that people only look on the ulterior characteristics in potential partners? Does it have to be the same age, same religion, same race or same area of expertise in order for both to be compatible and to be potential couple? Does it matter that the girl is older than the guy? Does it matter that the both are not from the same race? Or will it be a hindrance when both are not working in the same field? We are just part of the society after all, afraid of doing something out of the niche, trying hard to fit in the norm not realizing that we have closed off something that might be us inside. We are afraid of waiting for too long and looking deep into the person that we jump into the first person that is compatible on the outer qualities without looking on the inner qualities. We believe that once the outer shells is compatible, the inner jewel is just something to compromise and to polish, without knowing that even the inner jewel need to be found first from sand before being polished. We know that even if it doesn't work out, there's always other people out there. But what we fail to realize is that, the true sparkling pearl is already polished but hidden among the sands. What we have to do, is just to dig in a little deeper, look wider, and search more heartily. Does it mean that all of us are shallow even the higher our education is? Well, this is just a part of the confinement of the society after all and we are in the end, a member of the community trying to survive is the competitive world out there.
