I got you - Leona Lewis
Compromise. That's the common thing that we as human lack nowadays. We think that we have learned enough, seen enough, heard enough or experienced enough that we would not back down and listen or just agree with one another. We would think that the experience and knowledge that we have is unsurpassed. Little did we know that there is always something that we do not know of. Or maybe because when we encounter those things, we would treat that we have known, secretly we are in awe as we are learning in silence. I supposed that the Chinese saying 'retreat a step, the sky is the limit' has it's own truth. Compromise a little, and we achieve a common understanding. With understanding comes peace and bliss. Due to that we are ignorant and arrogant, we in turn are creating a trap for us ourselves to step into. And what would happen when we have no where else to turn to except the big hole lying behind us? And do we want to be treated with the saying 'Like frog in the well'?

暗戀 - 陶喆
After so long of inability of releasing the inner self, the feeling of pent up histories and emotions, all were to be let go. Such a simple act of letting go. What was the reason for the inability to release? unknown, or due to the simple reason of just not wanting to let go. Just to keep on holding to the single thinning thread, assuming that by holding on tightly, everything is going to be better and that all those things would be secretly locked away in the sealed box called 'the heart'. Little did we know that sometimes, what we do so hard to keep away from being revealed would be so obvious to others. It makes us to keep on pondering whether what we are doing is not enough or not perfect enough, whether our portrayal is strong or convincing enough. But that's not the case; It's a matter whether the other party is using their heart and soul to look into you. Whether they care enough to spend the time and effort to see through all the pretense. And when they do, you feel shocked and stripped down to the bare core. But when the truth about all these are being revealed, you understood that it's just a simple act of care and wanting to protect that makes people do that.

I Want To Know What Love Is - Mariah Carey
1. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.
2. Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.
3. Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.
4. When you say, "I love you," mean it.
5. When you say, "I'm sorry," look the person in the eye.
6. Be engaged at least six months before you get married.
7. Believe in love at first sight.
8. Never laugh at anyone's dream. People who don't have dreams don't have much.
9. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely.
10. In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.
11. Don't judge people by their relatives.
12. Talk slowly but think quickly.
13. When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, "Why do you want to know?
14. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
15. Say "bless you" when you hear someone sneeze.
16. When you lose, don't lose the lesson .
17. Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for others; and responsibility for all your actions.
18. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
19. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it
20. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice.
21. Spend some time alone.

紅色高跟鞋- 蔡健雅
Went shopping with a friend on Friday. In her mind, she has decided what to buy: Either a red dress or white pair of shoes. And as we walk around for the next 2 hours, we end up with nothing. Just as she gave up, went around for a last try, with no hope or expectation of getting anything. It was then she found a dress and end up buying something nice for an occasion. It is as I said, when coming out to shop, don't have any fixed intention of buying specified. As we have don't have the specific target, we will be able to enjoy everything else. It's the same with life and everything else; never have a specific target, enjoy the journey with an open heart, and we will learn to enjoy the process. The end of the road will still be there, but we what we learn and experience in the process is worth so much more than the goal itself. It's as the same as what me and another friend was talking last week. Have you set any goals in life? Have you set any specific things that you want to achieve? Have you set any specific ways to achieve them? As we set those, we will lose out on the journey of the path we've taken. We forget to enjoy along the way, that when we reach, we felt no sense of satisfaction, and set off to find another goal. So, have you learn to let go and let live?

若你碰到他- 蔡健雅
Where the rich prosper,
We falter;
Where the poor souls are contented,
The rich are in greed;
Where the successful are searching,
The simple ones have found;
We are in the end humans after all,
Each searching for the greater truth;
Cuz when we are in despair,
We hold on to the single hope;
When we are in solitude,
We find in ourselves a companion,
When we lost faith,
We search for a miracle.

誰 - 蔡健雅
A friend today said when it comes to relationship, he's a person that would be looking for someone that would fulfill some of his qualities. What is the other person doesn't fulfill the criteria that you have set, but treats you the way you deserve to be and love you all the same? I suppose that when it comes to loving someone or when being in a relationship, we shouldn't have any judgment or setting the criteria to a certain level that the other party must fulfill most of it. Paulo Coelho said it nicely in his book 'Brida' that emotions are like wild horses, the more we try to subdue it or control it, the wilder it will become. When feelings is there, no matter what criteria or physical attraction the other person has, it doesn't matter anymore. Cuz all of those are just materials, and the feeling are not attached to the materials. What if we like someone due to the criteria that they've fulfilled and yet 10 years down the road, the things are not there anymore? What is left in the relationship then? Like someone for who they are, not what they are.

I Look To You - Whitney Houston
When the dream is too beautiful, we refuse to wake up.
When things are too good to be true, we refuse to believe in reality.
Aren't we all living in our own world, contradicting who we are?
We want everything to be good, but have we ever tried hard for it to be good?
We need to be hurt in order to learn to love truly, but have we wondered about the feelings of the people we hurt?
We as humans are selfish, but the greatest things in life are generous,
So why are we acting the way we are?
When things are too good to be true, we refuse to believe in reality.
Aren't we all living in our own world, contradicting who we are?
We want everything to be good, but have we ever tried hard for it to be good?

Someone said
' If someone you love hurts you, humiliates you and belittles you, you are the luckiest person. You receive firsthand knowledge of the humiliation and pain and because you know how it feels, you'll know how much you can hurt a person and you'll vow to never inflict the same pain on others. I think a person who goes through life being careful in not hurting anyone is a truly wonderful person'.
How true is that...

Papercut - Jordin Sparks
Even after so many years of watching, this is still one of the best. Something to remind us how fragile we are, to succumb to love, how strong one's love can be, to the point that it makes one sacrifice, how no 2 person can be living in a totally different world. 'Destiny is the bridge you build to the one you love.'
No Parade - Jordin Sparks
I think most of us would remember this:
If by Rudyard Kipling.
IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

The Cure - Jordin Sparks
A Psalm Of Life
by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Tell me not, in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
And things are not what they seem.
Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou art, to dust returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul.
Not enjoyment, and not sorrow,
Is our destined end or way;
But to act, that each to-morrow
Find us farther than to-day.
Art is long, and Time is fleeting,
And our hearts, though stout and brave,
Still, like muffled drums, are beating
Funeral marches to the grave.
In the world's broad field of battle,
In the bivouac of Life,
Be not like dumb, driven cattle!
Be a hero in the strife!
Trust no Future, howe'er pleasant!
Let the dead Past bury its dead!
Act,--act in the living Present!
Heart within, and God o'erhead!
Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
And, departing, leave behind us
Footprints on the sands of time;--
Footprints, that perhaps another,
Sailing o'er life's solemn main,
A forlorn and shipwrecked brother,
Seeing, shall take heart again.
Let us, then, be up and doing,
With a heart for any fate;
Still achieving, still pursuing,
Learn to labor and to wait.

Soulmate - Natasha Bedingfield
Excuses. The thing that we human are constantly giving out. To reject, to persuade, to satisfy, to please. In order not to hurt the other party, we would want to reject in the best way possible, leaving an exit so that both parties leave gracefully. In order to satisfy, we would want to please someone so that they don't suspect.
Before starting a relationship, it would be 'I want to be alone, I don't believe in love anymore'. Or it would be, 'I'm still in love with the same person', or 'I like you, but we can never be together'.
To end a relationship, it would be 'I don't have that feeling anymore'. Or it would be 'I'm just tired' or 'I'm not going to be the best for you'.
Whatever excuses or reasons there is, to me is still just an excuse. I would not pursue further, cuz I don't see the point of pursuing when there's not going to be a concrete answer.

Walking on Snow - Jordin Sparks
It finally rained today.
The feeling that it washes away the dirt, the feeling that it can wash away tears, the feeling that we can stay in the middle of rain crying and no one can even notice, the childish side of us playing splashing water and mud alike while laughing it off as our shirts are soaked in dirt, the anticipation before it rains, the wet smell hitting our nostrils before it arrives, the smell of fresh grass after it finish raining, the rainbow to be seen after the rain, the bright sun after the rain unshielded by clouds, the smell of everything fresh.
what does the rain mean to you?

Okuribito (ending) - Joe Hisaishi
Hush little boy don't cry,
The world is going to be alright;
The road might be dark ahead,
But you will find your light;
It might feel heavy,
But you will fly;
I'm going to be here,
Standing by your side;
Silently watching, gently guarding,
Silently protecting, protectively engaging;
I'll be waiting,
As you find your light.
The world is going to be alright;

I didn't know my own strength - Whitney Houston
Conformity. That's the thing we as human like to stay in. The comfort zone that we try so hard to build and to stay in, not trying to enlarge it or to step out of it. One morning while having breakfast, a guy who is having breakfast on a table other than his normal one, decided to move back to the one he has been having his breakfast in all this while in the middle of the meal, just because he don't feel comfortable having breakfast in another table.
We try so hard to maintain our comfort zone. After all, we as human would want to be as comfortable as possible. To make our life comfortable, we indulge in all kinds of things, spending money in order to keep ourselves comfortable. We would spend on buying clothes that we like, eating food that we like, or watching movies that we like, in order to stay that way and not move out into the unknown zone. But somehow, if we don't move out and conquer that zone, how are we to enlarge our comfort zone? How are we supposed to be adventurous and enjoy life as it is?Challenge the difference and hardship, then we will enlarge the comfort zone, making ourselves more comfortable.

Here We Go Again - Demi Lovato
A friend asked me how much I would give myself out of 10 the other day in terms of physical appearance and I said maybe 3 or 4. He said that I don't look like the kind of person that would give myself that score. The portrayal that is given out is someone that would be given 7 or 8.
How much would you give yourself?

Passion - Utada Hikaru
The Acomodador or giving up point: there is always an event in our lives that is responsible for us failing to progress: a trauma, a particularly bitter defeat, a disappointment in love, even a victory we did not quite understand, can make cowards of us and prevent us from moving on. As part of the process of increasing his hidden powers, the shamans must first free himself from that giving up point and, to do so, he must review his whole life and find out where it occurred.
Has there been that moment? The moment we give up on things just because we thought we couldn't go on further or there was always a limitations to us as human beings. As someone used to say to me, we as humans are capable of limitless things, if we were to push the boundaries and to strive further. Just because of a past, doesn't mean that we were to give up on the future. Or that we should never try something again in the future when the options presented itself again. We would just need to reassess and know where did it go wrong, what was to be mended, and to open up again to the possibilities of being struck down again, and to stand up again and again. If we were to give up, then our life would be filled with defeats won't they?

Final Distance - Utada Hikaru
Why do we love certain people and hate others?
Where do we go after we die?
Why are we born if, in the end, we die?
What does God mean?
The fundamental questions of life. Have you tried asking yourselves these questions? Have you the answer to all these questions? As we live throughout our life, some does, some doesn't; but even if they do, do they understand? Is the answer really the answer?

Broken Hearted Girl - Beyonce
' That's why it is so important to let certain things go. To release them. To cut loose. People need to understand that no one is playing with marked cards; sometimes we win and sometimes we lose. Don't expect to get anything back, don't expect recognition for your efforts, don't expect your genius to be be discovered or your love to be understood. Complete the circle. Not out of pride, inability or arrogance, but simply because whatever it is no longer fits in your life. Close the door, change the record, clean the house, get rid of the dust. Stop being who you were and become who you are.'

别在伤口洒盐- 张惠妹
There's two kind of relationships: One where both parties barely know each other, but feelings are mutual and they decided to pursue the relationship further and know each other better from there. The other one is whether both parties started out as friends, develop further to be good friends and they realize that they've fallen for each other, and that's where they decided to pursue the relationship further.
Both types of relationship have their pros and cons. Scenario A started with both parties barely know each other and progress to understand each other better. As the relationship goes further, they understand each other better, they find out whether they are suited for each other, then they decide whether they will learn to accept the differences and stayed on. Fights and arguments are bound to happen, but it makes them either stronger or fragile. But the challenge in getting to know each other better, the excitement is there and there's always a new thing everyday.
Scenario B started with both parties know each other well enough, and understand each other enough. As the relationship progress, they will still find out new things about each others, but lesser and maybe more private and in details. The relationship is stable from the start, so there's bound to be lesser fights, but more of compromising and communications. But, this is where sometimes the relationship gets stale and progress nowhere. It just get stuck in the middle unless there's new things added as the journey progress on. Stability and conformity. So, which are you?

Love Song- 方大同
The battle is over,
The battlefield is clear now,
The dust has settled,
It's time for me to sigh a relief,
It's time to me to stumble a while,
Just in time for me to stand up again.
Just in time for me to face another.
The world is spinning,
The inner me is standing,
The surface is running,
Shall I stop and ponder?or
Shall I continue standing and running?
It's time to learn,
It's time to appreciate,
It's time to hope.

Somehow, I realized that my muse for writing is gone recently. Is it because I don't have the feeling of empathy anymore? Have I shielded myself too much that it blocked my whole world entirely? The sadness or the emo is not there. Even when it's here, it feels empty. The feeling of emptiness, it's as if being trapped in a room, with no windows or doors. Have I locked myself out too long? Have I tune myself out?Please, someone come and wake me up from the numbness.

Smash Into You- Beyonce & Jon McLaughlin
'Love like you've never love before'.
The famous phrase by Mark Twain. It's ironic to see that to those who have really love before, would say that by loving someone that much, it hurts so much too. To love like we've never loved before is like by giving all that we have without requesting anything in return. This would be the highest state of love. It is when we love so much that we know that if the other person is happy no matter the chosen one is, we'll be happy. It's also like the famous Buddhist quote where it says 'Lust equals emptiness, emptiness equals lust'. To love means to hurt, to hurt means to learn, and to learn means to grow. So, have you love someone so much and so deep today that when you wake up, it hurts so much?I have...
痛爱 - 容祖儿
When we are so badly hurt about something and try not to think about it by submerging ourselves in things that keep us busy, even a small cut would break us down; for it remind us that no matter how deep is the cut, it still hurts.

Come Back To Me - Utada Hikaru
I love,
Therefore I push away,
I push away,
In order to embrace.
I embrace,
Therefore I protect.
I protect,
In order to shield.
I shield,
Therefore I provide safety.
Therefore I push away,
I push away,
In order to embrace.
I embrace,
Therefore I protect.
I protect,
In order to shield.
I shield,
Therefore I provide safety.
沒有如果 - 梁靜茹
I live,
Therefore I die.
I die,
Therefore I am reborn.
I am reborn,
Therefore I have a purpose
Therefore I die.
I die,
Therefore I am reborn.
I am reborn,
Therefore I have a purpose
My Life Would Suck Without You - Kelly Clarkson
It's like standing on the edge of a cliff,
It's an unending abyss below,
And there's not turning back;
Would you live?
Would you die?
Or would you spread your wings and touch the sky?
It's like standing in the middle on the rain,
Where your tears are falling,
And no one notices.
It's like living in the House of Mirrors,
All you see is yourself,
All your hear is no one but your echo.
It's an unending abyss below,
And there's not turning back;
Would you live?
Would you die?
Or would you spread your wings and touch the sky?
It's like standing in the middle on the rain,
Where your tears are falling,
And no one notices.
It's like living in the House of Mirrors,
All you see is yourself,
All your hear is no one but your echo.

Loner
You know, sometimes I just want to be all alone. Well, not sometimes, it's most of the time. I'm a loner, I like to do things alone. So, please... Don't ask to come my house everyday, or want to ask me for dinner everyday, or asking me to fetch u anywhere... I'm not a sociable person.

Inferiority Complex
I feel like a total useless piece of shit right now. It's as if I'm not even capable of completing the simplest of jobs.

Halo - Beyonce
When we're small,
We deal with tens.
When we're teenagers,
We deal with hundreds.
When we're youths,
We deal with thousands.
When we're adults,
We deal with tens of thousands.

Bella's Lullaby - Carter Burwell
It's new year. It's time for resolution. It's going to be a simple one this year, that is not to have any resolution. What's the point of having resolution when we can't achieve all of them?
